 Ask a Question

Letter to the editor1 february 22, 2013:
i am surprised that there are still strong supporters of nuclear energy in eggenstein-leopoldshafen who also want to express this in their coat of arms. actually, nuclear technology is almost history in germany and has no right to continue to be advertised out of pure tradition.

it is astonishing that since harrisburg, chernobyl, fukushima, asse, since contaminated air, soil and water, and increased cancer rates in the area around nuclear reactors and research facilities, anyone still wants to show this atomic symbol in a city coat of arms.

the nuclear research center had also been innocuously renamed the research center or, today, even more harmlessly, kit campus nord and highly radioactive nuclear fuel rods are called "fuel", work for the 4th generation of nuclear power plants (the 2nd generation is currently being shut down in our country and the 3rd generation is being built in finland and france) is being carried out under "security research" ...
to show that the place and its residents want to change their relationships with the nuclear kit and i think it would be good if this was made clear in the coat of arms with the “rower with boat”. but just deleting the atom symbol and continuing to research vigorously into the next generation of nuclear power plants is not possible.

letter to the editor2 8.2.2013:

the writer of the letter to the editor still doesn't seem to understand what it's about and that you shouldn't compare apples with pears.
it's about this a symbol (nuclear power) in a public coat of arms, the synonym of which, at least since fukushima, has represented something that has to do with death, misery, destruction of nature and other negative superlatives and that will continue to trouble humanity (and us in the hardtwald) until eternity through its waste products alone (despite all alchemical promises). that's why there will no longer be any operating nuclear power plants in the federal republic of germany from 2022 - despite the lie about cheap electricity. a comparison with a horseshoe or a sailboat and their rather harmless associations can never stand up to the horror of a catastrophe for a region, an entire country. that's why it makes a difference in which time which symbol is on which coat of arms.
